About the project

Quds Semnan combined cycle power plant, known as Shahid Bakri power plant (Semnan province, km 10 of Semnan-Damghan highway, operated in 2013), is one of Iran's combined cycle power plants with a production capacity of 324 megawatts, which includes 2 gas units of 162 megawatts under operation. . The building of Semnan power plant is located on a land of 100 hectares in the 10th kilometer of Semnan-Damghan road. The height of this building is 1248 meters above sea level. The employer of the project is the Iran Electricity Development Organization, the consultant of Qods Niro Engineering Company and the main contractor of Mapna Company.
The construction of the power plant was handed over to the contractor in March 2007 and the executive activities started on the site in March of the same year. Semnan gas power plant consists of two gas units with a capacity of 162 MW each and a total of 324 MW and with an efficiency of 33.8% in ISO conditions. The main fuel of the units is natural gas which is supplied by the pipeline. The maximum gas consumption of the power plant will be 100,000 cubic meters per hour if the full load of both units is produced. The second fuel of the units is diesel, which is transported by tanker and stored in 5 tanks. 20,000 cubic meters and in the form of a pipeline (since 2013) are supplied by the National Oil Products Distribution Company.
