The emergence of dissatisfaction in the production and consumption of energy carriers in recent years has caused the country’s industrial sector to face serious challenges in the production of industrial products and achieving predetermined profitability goals. The consequences of this challenge have affected even the common people through the increase in the prices of the relevant products. The factors that cause this challenge are also rooted in issues such as the general culture of consumption, the price of energy carriers, weak investment in the production sector of energy carriers, liquidity restrictions to pay producers’ demands, etc.
In 1400, in order to provide the common interests of the electricity industry and the major industries of the country, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Safety and Energy, which is expected to have very effective benefits for both the country’s electricity industry and the major industries that consume electricity. be In this memorandum, the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade will create at least 10,000 megawatts of new power plant capacity through investment by industrial-mining companies, and the Ministry of Energy, in return, will issue the necessary permits, supply fuel and prevent Restrictions on electricity consumption of relevant industries are taking place.
Fortunately, units 3 and 4 of the Semnan power plant, as the first power plant of the power plant capacities included in this memorandum, have entered the circuit and the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum has begun. The credit required for the construction of these units was provided by the Mining and Metals Development Investment Company, and the said company intends to supply a part of the electricity consumed by the industrial units under its cover in this way. A very vital and important issue for the investors of these units is the non-inclusion of electricity consumption management plans for their sub-category industries as much as the production of said units. Iran Electricity Network Management Company, in line with the implementation of the terms of the memorandum and by making the necessary arrangements, gives the assurance to the industries of the contracting party of this power plant that the amount of electricity supplied from Semnan Power Plant and corresponding to the production of units 3 and 4 of Semnan Power Plant, Exclude relevant industries from consumption management programs. This issue has a great financial and economic value for the mentioned industries and can have significant benefits both for the industrial sector and for the prosperity of the market of their products. It is hoped that this action will become a very important incentive for the major electricity consuming industries in the country so that by investing in the electricity production sector, they can provide the reliable and stable electricity they need and take a step towards promoting the country’s national interests.
